Email Spoofing is on the rise; and is costing businesses billions of pounds.
A recent article from BBC illustrates how big the problem actually is and explains the tactics used by cybercriminals to trick you out of money, whether it’s CEO Fraud, Monday Morning’s or Fake Forwards…..the cyber criminals are using emails that are just not to be trusted.
Also, within the article Ryan Kalember from Proofpoint shares insight and information on this very important topic commenting: “Business Email Compromise (BEC) is the most expensive problem in all of cyber-security. There is not a single other form of cyber-crime that has the same degree of scope in terms of money lost.”
Email spoofing is technically very simple but there are lots of things companies and employees can do to stay safe online.
At Fusion we are doing our best to protect you with the correct technology and advice to keep your systems and employees safe.
